Private Family in Hockessin, Delaware Seeking a Part-Time Housekeeper/Nanny
Position: Part-Time Housekeeper/After School Nanny
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 3:00 PM–8:30 PM; Saturday, 8:30 AM–2:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 27–30 hours/week
Salary: $25–$27/hour
Start Date: Flexible
About the Family
A busy family in Hockessin, Delaware with four children is seeking a reliable and responsible Housekeeper/Nanny to assist primarily with their two older children, ages 10 and 13, while also helping with light household tasks. The family has another nanny who cares for the two younger children, so strong communication and collaboration are important.
Responsibilities
- School pick-ups for the two older children
- Drive children to and from activities
- Supervise the children during the afternoon and evening
- Help keep the children on schedule and manage their afternoon/evening routines
- Light tidying and straightening up while the children are at activities
- Keep the kitchen clean, tidy, and organized
- Assist with laundry as needed
- Keep children’s belongings and common areas organized
- Occasional simple cooking or meal preparation is a plus
- Communicate and collaborate with the family’s other nanny to ensure the household and children’s schedules run smoothly
- Saturday hours may occasionally shift depending on the children’s activities
Ideal Candidate & Personality
The ideal candidate is warm, dependable, responsible, and comfortable working with older children. Someone who is proactive, organized, and happy to pitch in with household tasks would be a great fit. They should also be a strong communicator and team player who works well alongside another nanny.
Requirements
- Previous childcare experience, preferably with school-aged children
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable assisting with light housekeeping and laundry
- Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively
- Flexible with occasional Saturday schedule changes
