Position: Part-Time Live-Out Estate Caretaker
Location: Greenwich, Connecticut
Schedule: Flexible; ideally 3–5 mornings per week or 3 full days per week, Monday–Friday ~25 hours per week
Compensation: $50+/hour

About the Position

A warm and well-established private household in Greenwich, CT is seeking an experienced, dependable, and proactive Estate Caretaker to assist with property maintenance, household errands, and general estate support. Responsibilities
Property & Grounds Care:
Maintain terraces, walkways, entryways, outdoor living spaces, and pool areas
Sweep exterior entrances and keep grounds free of debris and litter
Clean and maintain outdoor furniture, tables, grills, umbrellas, lanterns, and seasonal items
Water potted plants, remove pet waste, and monitor deer fencing for repairs
Perform snow removal for stairs, walkways, and front entryways
Keep outdoor storage areas, sheds, and pool storage spaces clean and organized
Household Maintenance:
Perform light repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the home
Replace light bulbs, address minor plumbing issues, and troubleshoot basic household concerns
Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems, utility rooms, attics, crawl spaces, and guest house areas
Clean dryer vents, monitor boilers and hot water systems, and proactively identify maintenance needs
Coordinate repairs and communicate maintenance concerns with household staff
Seasonal Projects:
Clean interior and exterior windows, including screen installation and storage
Clean gutters and downspouts
Maintain fireplaces and assist with seasonal opening and closing of outdoor living areas
Store outdoor cushions and furnishings during inclement weather and at season’s end
Household Support:
Run errands, including dry cleaning, post office, package returns, and local shopping
Collect mail and packages and ensure deliveries are brought into the home
Assist with travel preparations, including loading and unloading vehicles
Vehicle & Pet Care:
Wash and fuel vehicles as needed
Provide occasional airport transportation
Transport the family dog to grooming appointments and assist with pet-related needs

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “no task is too big or too small” mentality. They should be organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently while also collaborating with other household staff. A background in estate care, property maintenance, facilities support, or private service is highly preferred.

Requirements

  • Minimum availability of 25 hours per week
  • Flexible Monday–Friday schedule
  • Prior experience as an Estate Caretaker, Property Caretaker, Estate Maintenance Professional, Facilities Manager, or in a similar role
  • Reliable personal vehicle for errands and transportation needs (mileage/gas reimbursed when used for work purposes)
  • Experience with light household repairs and maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor
  • Must be local to the Greenwich, CT area; no relocation assistance provided
