Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $40–45+/hour DOE
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
- Start Date: ASAP, but very flexible
- Benefits: 2 weeks PTO, 3–5 sick days, paid major holidays, and a possible health insurance stipend
- Travel: Required, with accommodations provided. The family hopes to keep total compensation below $50/hour or $100,000 annually.
The Ideal Candidate
A private family in Gulf Stream, FL, is seeking a warm, nurturing, and reliable full-time nanny to care for their 7-week-old baby boy and provide additional household support, including cooking, as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional career nanny who is looking for a long-term position and would enjoy growing with a family as they expand over the next several years, if possible! The candidate must be able to drive, travel, and enjoy cooking.
The ideal candidate will have strong newborn experience, including experience caring for multiple children, as the family hopes to grow their family. They should also be comfortable working collaboratively with a hands-on mother who works from home as an interior designer. The family is looking for someone flexible, proactive, and independent who can provide attentive childcare while also helping with simple meal preparation, cooking, errands, and general family assistance.
As the family grows, the role will evolve to include caring for additional children and assisting with activities, school drop-offs, and other family needs. The family also travels frequently throughout the year, including trips to Kentucky, Europe, their additional home in West Florida, and New York, so the nanny must be comfortable traveling with them.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for the baby, including feeding, diapering, naps, and developmental activities.
- Support the family as they grow, with the potential to care for multiple children in the future.
- Work collaboratively with the mother, who will be involved in the baby’s daily routine while working from home and running errands.
- Prepare simple meals for the family as needed. Ideally, someone who genuinely enjoys cooking!
- Assist with errands, including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and other day-to-day tasks.
- Provide general household and family support as needed.
- Travel with the family to their additional Florida residence in Boca Grande, FL, their summer trips to Kentucky and Europe, and their summer home in Saratoga, NY.
- Maintain a flexible, team-oriented approach as the family’s needs and routines evolve.
Schedule
The family is seeking someone for approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM–5 PM. The schedule may occasionally vary depending on the family’s work commitments and travel plans.
Travel will be an important part of the position. Most travel occurs during the summer:
- June: Trip to Lexington, KY.
- July: A longer summer trip, often to an international destination such as Europe.
- August: Stay in Saratoga, NY about 3 weeks.
During the fall, winter, and spring, the family typically visits their additional home in Gasparilla, Boca Grande, FL, for approximately six days per month, with a more extended stay over Christmas and New Year’s.
The nanny will have a separate bedroom and bathroom at the family’s West Coast Florida home, and staff housing will be provided in New York. Accommodations will also be arranged during other trips.
