About the Family

A warm NYC family is looking for an energetic, reliable nanny to join their team! Their sweet 10-month-old boy is the main focus of this role… he’s a big, busy guy (already 25 lbs!) who’s on the move and getting into everything, so being energetic and up for running around with a toddler is a must.

Mom will be out and about with their 4 year old often, who is also in school full days, but you’ll want to be comfortable jumping in to help with her from time to time, especially on school closure days. Everything is walkable from their home, so your days will be full of playground trips, stroller walks, songs, books, and lots of hands-on engagement.

This family values teamwork. They’re looking for someone who shows up on time, communicates openly, speaks up when they need something, and partners with the parents as a unified team. If you’re great at setting and holding healthy boundaries with little ones (with plenty of warmth!), this could be a wonderful fit.

  • Children: 10 Month Old Boy (Primary care) and 4 Year Old Girl (Secondary Care)
  • Pets: Cat (no care needed)
  • Household Staff: Housekeeping once a week

Responsibilities

  • Full care for a 10-month-old: feeding, diaper changes, bathing, naps, and play
  • Introducing solids and meal prepping healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the kids
  • Outings to the playground and around the neighborhood
  • Reading, singing, and engaging, age-appropriate play
  • Occasional help with the 4-year-old
  • Light kid-related housekeeping: kids’ laundry, organizing toys, keeping the kitchen tidy

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience working with infants and toddlers, demonstrating patience, attentiveness, and a genuine passion for early childhood care. They should be dependable and flexible, able to adapt to occasional schedule changes and provide consistent, high-quality care. A warm, nurturing personality with excellent communication skills is essential to foster a trusting relationship with both the child and the family. This caregiver will be proactive in creating a safe and stimulating environment that supports the baby’s growth and development.

Requirements

  • Solid experience caring for infants and young toddlers
  • Energetic and physically able to lift and carry a 25+ lb baby throughout the day
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong communicator
  • Comfortable using guidance and boundaries in a warm, consistent way
  • Available for full weekend days (Sat & Sun 7am–7pm) plus 2–3+ weekday afternoons
  • Lives locally in NYC or nearby
  • Background check and references required
  • No driving, swimming, or travel needed
  • Must be comfortable in a home with a cat (no pet care required)
