About the Family
A warm, kind, and thoughtful family on the Upper West Side is seeking their dream candidate, someone professional, supportive, organized, and genuinely invested in becoming a trusted long-term part of their household. They deeply value kindness, open communication, healthy boundaries, and a nanny who understands how to be both proactive and collaborative.
The family has two children, ages 7 and 9. While this role will primarily focus on supporting their son and allowing him to have “his person,” the nanny must also be comfortable stepping in and managing both children. Their daughter has autism, and their son has ADHD and anxiety, so they are seeking someone patient, understanding, and experienced with neurodivergent children.
They are hoping to find someone who can commit for a minimum of two years and become a steady, positive presence in their children’s lives.
Position Responsibilities
- Primary childcare support for one child while confidently caring for both children as needed
- School pick-ups, activity transportation, and schedule management (driving preferred but not required)
- Managing after-school routines, transitions, and structure
- Coordinating with therapists and support providers as needed
- Providing compassionate support for neurodivergent needs
- Homework support and creating consistent routines
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children and family
- Cooking with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free preferences in mind
- Weekly grocery shopping and household errands
- Children’s laundry and family laundry as needed
- Organizing household spaces and maintaining systems
- Helping source and organize items for the children and household
- Domestic and international travel with the family as needed
Ideal Candidate
- 3-8+ years of professional nanny experience
- At least 2 years of experience caring for two children simultaneously
- Strong English communication skills (their son is very excited to learn new words and passionate about communication so a broad vocabulary is highly preferred)
- Warm, calm, positive, and professional presence
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Confident cook who enjoys preparing healthy meals
- Comfortable taking initiative while respecting parental preferences
- Experience with neurodivergent children strongly preferred
- Understands discretion, boundaries, and professionalism in a private home
- Seeking a meaningful long-term role
