Job Title: Nanny / House Manager starting by the end of May!
Location: Cedar Grove, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (flexibility for Wednesdays until ~8:30 PM is a plus, but not required)
Compensation: $30–$35/hour + 2 weeks PTO + opportunity for overtime
Position Overview
A warm, welcoming family in Cedar Grove, NJ is seeking a long-term Nanny / House Manager to support their home and care for their 11-year-old daughter. The ideal candidate is kind, engaging, organized, and proactive, with a genuine love for children and dogs. This role is a blend of household management and after-school childcare, with flexibility and autonomy during parts of the day.
The father works from home but maintains a separate workspace and routine.
Key Responsibilities
House Management (Late Morning / Early Afternoon)
- Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of the home
- Perform light housekeeping duties (e.g., dishes, laundry, tidying, vacuuming with Dyson)
- Assist with home organization projects as needed
- Care for two family dogs (ages 6 and 8): feeding, walking, and general care
- Prepare meals/snacks for the child and assist with light family meal prep when time allows
Childcare (Afternoon / Evening)
- Pick up or meet daughter after school (school ends at 3:00 PM)
- Drive to and from extracurricular activities
- Coordinate and facilitate playdates with other families (direct communication with parents required)
- Engage in creative, age-appropriate activities (e.g., games, cooking, drawing, writing, electronics)
- Encourage an active and social lifestyle
- Supervise swimming (must be comfortable around water and able to swim)
- Provide structure, support, and companionship
Additional Responsibilities & Opportunities
- Assist with planning activities and keeping the child engaged, especially during downtime
- Summer schedule includes more flexibility as the child attends day and sleepaway camps
- Opportunity for additional hours/overtime (date nights, weekend support, pet sitting, etc.)
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced nanny and/or house manager looking for a long-term role
- Warm, caring, and engaging personality with a good sense of humor
- Organized, proactive, and self-directed
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable managing a home independently
- Must love dogs and have experience caring for them
- Confident swimmer (pool supervision required)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
