Schedule

A warm, respectful, and globally-minded family based in the Pinecrest area of Miami is seeking an exceptional nanny-governess to join their household long-term. The family places a very strong emphasis on education, personal development, and raising well-rounded, intellectually curious children. They are highly considerate employers who value professionalism, kindness, and mutual respect.
The family travels frequently throughout the year, including extended international trips, and would love for their nanny-governess to accompany them.
Children: Two boys, ages 8 and 13
Home: Spacious private residence
Household Staff: A full-time Housekeeper and part-time chef
Living Accommodations: Role can be live-out or live-in. For live-in, a fully furnished 1-bedroom mini-apartment (bedroom, living/dining area + en-suite bathroom, with ability to access via semi-private entrance) is available.
Responsibilities
This role combines the structure and academic focus of a governess with the warmth and adaptability of a nanny. The successful candidate will confidently support both children’s distinct developmental needs while prioritizing education and personal growth.
- Provide attentive after-school care and supervision for both children
- Take the lead on academic support, including homework, study habits, and educational structure—particularly for the older child
- Foster discipline, organization, and accountability in academics to ensure continued high performance
- Support the younger child through engaging, educational, and creative activities, including reading, arts, and outdoor exploration
- Confidently manage differing personalities and moods, adapting approach as needed between both children
- Promote positive behavior, emotional development, and independence in age-appropriate ways
- Coordinate and manage after-school schedules, activities, and transportation
- Plan enriching outings and experiences both locally and while traveling
- Maintain organization of children’s spaces and belongings, reinforcing responsibility and routine
- Collaborate closely with parents and household staff to ensure a smooth and structured environment
- Prepare healthy snacks and support good eating habits (chef prepares meals)
- Travel domestically and internationally with the family as needed
Schedule & Hours
It is very important to the family that the schedule and expectations are clearly understood. They are highly collaborative and respectful of the employee’s time and independence; however, flexibility is an essential component of this role.
Core Weekly Schedule (during school weeks):
- Sunday: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- (Approx. 33 hours per week)
Additional Hours (as needed):
- Occasional extended weekday evenings or Saturdays will be scheduled in advance to accommodate family needs
- Example hours may include 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- With these additions, weekly hours typically average closer to 40 hours
School Holidays & Travel Periods:
- Full-day coverage will be required (typically 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Friday)
- Longer hours may also apply during travel or when the children are out of school
- The family ensures appropriate time off and rest periods are built in
Overall Average:
- Approximately 45 hours per week averaged over the year
Overnights:
- On rare occasions (approximately 3–4 times per year), when both parents are traveling, the nanny/governess will be asked to stay overnight and assist with morning school routines

Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar nanny/governess role within a private household
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (education or related field strongly preferred)
- Strong academic background with the ability to support advanced schoolwork
- Must be genuinely fluent in English, spoken and written
- Valid driver’s license and confident driving ability
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid Passport for International travel
- Excellent, verifiable references
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
