Family Assistant/Nanny needed in Huntington, NY (North Shore Long Island)
Location: Huntington, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 12pm – 7pm (35-40 hours per week, depending on candidate preference)
Compensation: $35–$40+ per hour, DOE
Start Date: ASAP
About the Family
A warm, active, and busy family located in Huntington on Long Island’s North Shore is seeking a proactive and engaging Family Assistant to help keep their home and family life running smoothly. Both parents work full-time, and their schedules are demanding.
The family has two active children involved in numerous extracurricular activities. Between sports practices, Hebrew school, birthday parties, and social activities, the family is looking for someone who can jump in wherever needed and become a dependable extra set of hands.
The family also has one friendly medium-sized dog and a hamster.
Responsibilities
Household Support
- Maintain overall organization and tidiness of the home
- Laundry, folding, and putting clothing away
- Daily kitchen clean-up and dishes
- General household upkeep between visits from the bi-weekly cleaning crew
- Grocery shopping and household errands
- Basic meal preparation nightly
- Have a simple dinner prepared and ready for the family around 6:30 PM
- Keep commonly used areas clean and organized
Childcare & Family Assistance
- Supervise and engage with two school-aged children – running and playing with them is important
- Drive children to and from sports practices, activities, school, birthday parties, and social events
- Coordinate schedules and assist with the family’s busy after-school routine
- Encourage active play and participate in outdoor activities with the children
- Provide support during school breaks and summer schedules

Requirements
- Prior experience as a Family Assistant, Nanny, or Household Manager
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to use personal car for transporting children (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Excellent references
