About the Family

A warm, easygoing, and friendly family in Key Biscayne is looking for a positive, flexible, and committed Live-In Nanny / Family Assistant to help care for their two children, ages 6 and 7, and keep family life running smoothly.

Their previous nanny was with them for six wonderful years and recently retired. They loved her dearly, and they’re hoping to find someone who wants that same kind of long-term, trusted relationship.

Both children are in school full day, so this role is a true blend of childcare and family assistant support. The family has a housekeeper for deep cleaning, so the focus here is on the kids, the day-to-day flow of the home, and their sweet 70 lb dog.

Responsibilities

  • School and activity drop-offs and pickups
  • Helping the kids get ready in the morning and settled in the evening
  • Preparing simple meals and snacks
  • Packing lunches and helping pack the kids’ bags for trips
  • Keeping the kids’ rooms tidy and changing their sheets

Family Assistant Support

  • Laundry and keeping things organized throughout the home
  • Keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy
  • Grocery shopping
  • Running errands, like returns, drop-offs, and dry cleaning
  • General organizing to help the household run smoothly

Pet Care

  • Feeding the dog and helping with walks
  • Caring for the dog when the family travels without the nanny. During those weeks, duties are mostly dog care.

The family travels with their nanny for weeks at a time. For example, they take an extended vacation each winter, and having their nanny come along is a priority. Since they usually travel when the kids are out of school, childcare during those times is often lighter.

Every week looks a little different, so the right person is comfortable with shifting hours and is available for occasional weekends and overnights when needed. The role is full-time at about 40 hours per week, and the family is mindful of keeping hours within that.

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is upbeat, dependable, and easygoing… someone with a genuinely positive attitude who enjoys kids, loves dogs, and takes pride in keeping the household supported and looked after. Flexibility is a big one here. This family needs someone who can roll with changing schedules without stress and who’s happy to pitch in where it’s needed most.

Most of all, they’re looking for a long-term commitment. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to become a trusted, valued part of a family for years to come.

Live-in is strongly preferred. The family may consider a live-out candidate for the right person, as long as they can be very flexible with scheduling and overnights.

Live-In Accommodations

This is a live-in position with a private bedroom, good closet space, and a private bathroom on a separate floor from the family.

Requirements

  • Professional nanny and/or family assistant experience (5 Year Minimum)
  • Experience caring for school-aged children
  • Live-in availability (live-out considered for the right candidate)
  • Full-time commitment, typically Monday through Friday, with some flexibility for weekends and overnights
  • Ability to travel with the family for weeks at a time
  • Comfortable around a large, friendly dog and happy to help care for him
  • Valid driver’s license strongly preferred (car can be provided)
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to manage errands and household tasks independently
  • Minimum of 2 strong professional references
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
