About the Family

A warm, busy family in Brooklyn is seeking a caring, dependable, and engaging full-time nanny to support their 9-year-old daughter. She is a bright, energetic, and curious child who loves reading, asking big questions, staying active, and learning new things.

The family is looking for someone who will be a positive and consistent presence in her daily life, providing a balance of attentive care, age-appropriate independence, and fun activities. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, communicative, and genuinely enjoys building a meaningful, long-term relationship with a school-aged child.

Responsibilities

  • Manage morning and after-school routines, including helping the child get ready for school and keeping her daily schedule organized.
  • Assist with homework and encourage a positive attitude toward learning.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for the child.
  • Keep the child’s bedroom, play areas, and personal spaces neat and organized.
  • Accompany the child to extracurricular activities, playdates, appointments, and neighborhood outings.
  • Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and trips to the park or library.
  • Encourage the child’s interests, including reading, chess, and other educational or recreational activities.
  • Provide attentive supervision, emotional support, and a safe, nurturing environment throughout the day.
  • Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the child’s routine, activities, and overall well-being.

Ideal Candidate / Requirements

  • Previous childcare or nanny experience, ideally with school-aged children.
  • Warm, patient, energetic, and engaging personality.
  • Reliable, responsible, trustworthy, and highly organized.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents.
  • Enjoys reading, learning, playing games, and keeping a curious child engaged.
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule and early morning starts.
  • Seeking a long-term position and committed to providing consistency for the family.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States or hold a valid J-1 au pair visa.
  • Available to start immediately or within the next few weeks.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nanny who enjoys working with school-aged children and wants to become a valued, long-term part of a family’s daily life.
