About the Opportunity
A very private, high-profile couple in McLean, Virginia is seeking an experienced, polished, and proactive part-time Housekeeper to join their established household team.
This is a beautiful, well-run home where the principals value discretion, professionalism, attention to detail, and a calm, peaceful environment. They are looking for someone who understands the standards of a private home and can confidently manage their responsibilities without constant direction.
The ideal candidate will take pride in caring for a home from top to bottom, work well independently, and be comfortable coordinating with an established household staff.
- Home: 13,000 sq. ft. private residence
- Pet: One beloved Terrier
- Household Staff: Full-time House Manager, part-time Housekeeper, part-time Chef, and full-time caregivers
Privacy & Confidentiality
Absolute discretion is essential. The successful candidate will be required to sign an NDA. No photographs of the home, family, staff, or property are permitted, and no social media posts regarding the household are allowed.
Responsibilities
The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the home to a consistently high standard, including:
- Comprehensive housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, and daily trash removal
- Laundry and linen care, including changing bedding and ironing Mrs.’s bed linens
- Maintaining kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, guest spaces, and other areas of the home
- Keeping the home organized, tidy, and guest-ready, including resetting the home after weekend family visits
- Careful attention to household details, including fresh flowers, plants, and outdoor/patio areas
- Managing household laundry from start to finish and ensuring clothing and linens are properly cared for and put away
- Light household errands, including grocery and pharmacy pick-ups
- Occasional transportation for the Lady of the House when the House Manager is unavailable
- Communicating and coordinating with the other part-time Housekeeper to maintain consistency throughout the week
- Other reasonable household duties as needed
Dog Care – Non-Negotiable: The family dog is a very important part of the household and requires dedicated care each day. The Housekeeper must be comfortable and genuinely happy to provide three walks per day while on duty: approximately 30–45 minutes in the morning, 20–30 minutes around lunchtime, and 30–45 minutes before leaving for the day, along with feeding and basic care. This is an essential responsibility of the position and is not optional.

Schedule
- Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays
- 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with flexibility for the right candidate
- The other part-time Housekeeper works Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays, so the Housekeepers generally work independently on separate days
- Communication and coordination between the two Housekeepers is important to ensure continuity throughout the week
- Occasional overlap may occur for training, special projects, or household needs
- The family is open to adding an overlapping day for the right candidate who would like additional hours
Position Requirements
- Previous high-end, private-household housekeeping experience required
- Excellent English communication skills
- Spanish is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Safe and reliable vehicle for occasional transportation
- Comfortable driving the family’s electric vehicle if needed
- Genuine willingness to provide the required daily dog walks
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation & Benefits
- $45–$50/hour, depending on experience
