Private Family Driver & Family Assistant

Greenwich, CT | Part-Time | $70–$75/hour

A private family in Greenwich, CT, is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Driver / Family Assistant to support their two children, ages 14 and 11. This is a driving-focused position for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and teenagers and is comfortable managing a busy afternoon schedule.

Driving is the primary responsibility of this role, accounting for approximately 90–95% of the workday. The family is looking for a confident, responsible driver who understands the importance of safety, punctuality, and creating a comfortable, positive experience for the children.

Schedule

• Primarily Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00–7:30 PM
• Morning hours from approximately 7:00–8:00 AM are also available for a candidate interested in additional hours
• Flexibility is appreciated to accommodate the children’s schedules and activities

Responsibilities

• Safely transport the children to and from school, activities, sports, appointments, and other destinations.
• Manage daily driving between Greenwich, Rye, NY, and surrounding areas.
• Transport the children to extracurricular activities, including competitive rock climbing, which may require drives of 25–40 minutes each way.
• Maintain a calm, reliable, and safety-conscious presence while driving.
• Run occasional errands for the family, such as picking up dry cleaning.
• Assist with dinner preparation when time allows and if the candidate is interested. (not required, would provide additional hours)
• Communicate proactively with the parents regarding schedules, transportation, and any changes to the day’s plans.

Ideal Candidate

• Has an excellent driving record and a strong history of safe, responsible driving.
• Is comfortable driving frequently throughout the afternoon and evening, including longer trips and back-to-back activities.
• Has prior experience working with school-aged children or teenagers and enjoys building positive, appropriate relationships with them.
• Is dependable, punctual, organized, and comfortable managing a changing schedule.
• Understands that this is a hands-on driving position, not a traditional household management or home organization role.
• Lives locally in or near Greenwich and is familiar with the surrounding area, including Rye, NY.
• Can meet the requirements of the family’s high-end auto insurance carrier.

Compensation & Benefits

• $70–$75 per hour, depending on experience
• Family vehicle provided for all work-related driving
