Private Family in Locust Valley, NY Seeking 1–2 Housekeepers (Full-Time or Part-Time, Live-In or Live-Out)
Position: Housekeeper (1–2 hires; open to full-time or part-time, live-in or live-out, but live-out is preferred)
Schedule: The family is very flexible and open to a variety of schedules depending on the right fit. Options may include full-time, part-time, or a rotational schedule (such as alternating weeks or split coverage between two housekeepers).
Weekend coverage is required during the summer months, either through one full-time hire or a rotation between two candidates. Outside of summer, weekends are generally not required. Some flexibility is appreciated for occasional evenings, entertaining, or busier periods.
Typical daily hours are approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, but can be adjusted.
Additional Flexibility:
Live-in accommodations can be provided during working days if needed for commute, with time off spent at your own residence.
Salary: Around $35-40 per hour (flexible depending on experience — please apply with your desired hourly rate)

About the Family
A warm and welcoming private family relocating from California to Locust Valley, NY are seeking one or two experienced Housekeepers to help establish and maintain their large household. They are moving into a fully renovated 13,000 sq. ft. residence. The family values professionalism, discretion, initiative, and long-term commitment. They had their prior housekeeper for 15 years.
Children: Three children (ages 20, 18, and 15) – no childcare required
Home Size: 13,000 sq. ft. residence
Pets: Two friendly dogs (Goldendoodle and Cavapoo)
Household Staff: House manager and laundress
Responsibilities
- Full-charge housekeeping for a large, three-level residence
- Ability to prepare basic breakfasts at times
- Daily cleaning, upkeep, and organization of all living spaces
- Bed making, linen care, and general household presentation to high standards
- Laundry support as needed (heavy emphasis on attention to detail), laundress may be seasonal during busy summer period
- Assisting with move-in organization and ongoing household setup during initial transition
- Flexibility to support additional tasks during events, dinner parties, and high-traffic periods
- Maintaining a polished, orderly, and guest-ready home at all times

Requirements
- Prior long-term experience as a housekeeper in a large private home or estate
- Strong references
- Legal to work in the United States
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including at least 2 weekends/month
