Experienced Live-Out Housekeeper Needed for Prestigious New York City Residence

  • Position: Temporary Live-Out Housekeeper
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., guaranteeing 40 hours per week.
    Flexibility to be available as needed is required for this position. If working hours exceed 40 hours, the candidate will receive additional compensation; however, if the Principal is not in residence and the candidate is not required to be on-site, they will continue to receive a guaranteed pay equal to 40 hours/week.
  • Salary: $50–$60 per hour, depending on experience
  • Start Date: ASAP, TEMPORARY 5/8/26-Mid/Late July, potentially longer
  • Relocation: No – local candidates only

Responsibilities

The housekeeper will be responsible for a comprehensive range of household duties, including but not limited to:

  • Daily cleaning of all rooms including bathrooms, living areas, and kitchen
  • Dusting and polishing fine surfaces
  • Vacuuming, mopping, and proper care of all flooring
  • Kitchen cleaning and organization, coordinating clean-up with chef
  • Sanitizing bathrooms and restocking amenities
  • Making beds, changing linens, and managing laundry
  • Maintaining the home’s pristine condition at all times
  • Light meal preparation, coffee, and refreshments upon request
  • Managing dry cleaning and refrigerator organization
  • Weekly grocery shopping and inventory management of household supplies such as groceries and toiletries
  • Running errands and fulfilling ad hoc requests, including support during visiting guests
  • Preparing guest rooms for visitors
  • Receiving occasional deliveries from building staff
  • Promptly reporting maintenance issues and communicating with the Executive Assistant

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate will present a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. They must be courteous, respectful, trustworthy, and loyal, with a calm and positive presence. Flexibility and dependability are essential, especially given the potential for scheduling changes due to the family’s travel plans. Attention to detail is paramount, as the household maintains high-end standards befitting an executive environment. Fluency in both Italian and English is preferred to effectively communicate within the household.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a high-end residential housekeeping role
  • Fluency in Italian and English is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
  • Flexibility with scheduling, including occasional changes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid work authorization for the United States
