About the Family

A warm and busy family in Easton, CT, is seeking a dependable, proactive, and engaging full-time nanny to care for their four young children. The family is looking for someone who genuinely loves working with children, can confidently manage multiple age groups, and creates a calm, structured, and nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable taking initiative throughout the day. The family values a nanny who can establish appropriate boundaries, encourage good habits, and help the children develop age-appropriate independence. While light household assistance related to the children is appreciated, the primary focus of this position is providing excellent childcare.

Children

The family has four children:

  • 10-month-old infant
  • 2-year-old toddler
  • 4-year-old child
  • 6-year-old child, who attends school until approximately 3:10 PM

The mother is also home with the younger children at times, so the nanny should be comfortable working collaboratively with a parent while taking initiative and managing childcare responsibilities.

Schedule

Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The family has an alternating monthly schedule on Mondays, with flexibility to discuss how the remaining hours are best arranged.

  • Monday: Alternates monthly between 1:00 PM–8:30/9:00 PM and 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 11:30 AM–6:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 1:00 PM–6:00 PM, with flexibility to discuss additional hours
  • Thursday: 11:30 AM–6:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

The family is open to discussing adjustments to the schedule to reach approximately 40 hours per week and find an arrangement that works well for everyone.

Responsibilities

Childcare & Daily Routines

  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children.
  • Engage the children in fun, enriching activities that encourage learning, creativity, movement, and development.
  • Establish and maintain consistent routines and confidently reinforce household rules and boundaries.
  • Encourage age-appropriate independence, including having the children help clean up after themselves.
  • Minimize screen time and promote active play and meaningful engagement.
  • Assist with school pickups and transportation to swimming lessons and other activities.
  • Help manage transitions throughout the day while maintaining a calm, organized atmosphere.

Children’s Household Support

  • Manage the children’s laundry, including washing, folding, and putting clothing away.
  • Prepare children’s meals and snacks and clean up afterward.
  • Keep children’s bedrooms, play areas, toys, and shared spaces tidy and organized.
  • Encourage the children to participate in age-appropriate cleanup and household responsibilities.
  • Take initiative with child-related tasks and anticipate the family’s needs throughout the day.

The family has a weekly cleaning service, so this is not a housekeeping-focused position. The priority is childcare, with light household assistance related to the children.

Transportation & Travel

  • Safely drive the children to school pickups, swimming lessons, and other activities.
  • Use the family’s vehicle for work-related transportation, as one can be provided.
  • Accompany the family on approximately 4–5 trips per year and remain comfortable caring for the children while traveling.

Pet Care

  • Be comfortable in a home with two large dogs and one cat.
  • Let the dogs outside as needed. Dog walking is not required.

Living Arrangements

The family is open to both live-in and live-out candidates. For someone interested in a live-in arrangement, accommodations may be available at the children’s grandmother’s home, approximately 12 minutes away, as she primarily resides in Manhattan. Details can be discussed with the family.

Ideal Candidate & Requirements

  • Previous professional experience caring for infants, toddlers, and multiple children simultaneously.
  • A genuine love for children and a strong understanding of child development.
  • Confident boundary-setting skills and the ability to maintain consistent expectations.
  • Proactive, flexible, reliable, and communicative.
  • Organized and capable of managing busy family routines.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Comfortable with large dogs and cats.
  • Willingness to travel with the family several times per year.
  • A team player who can work collaboratively with a parent while confidently taking ownership of childcare responsibilities.

The family is open to candidates of different ages and is primarily seeking someone with relevant childcare experience, a positive attitude, and the ability to confidently care for multiple young children.

This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, capable nanny seeking a full-time role with a welcoming family. The family is ready to hire ASAP!
